Can anyone please tell me what is the preferred option with fuel tanks please - alodine them (skins, ribs, stiffeners, etc) or leave them in their natural finish?
Are people priming the outside of their tanks?

You should leave the inside of the fuel tank untreated. I primed the exterior of the aft bulkhead. The rest of the tank exterior will, of course, be primed when the aircraft is painted.

We do not use any treatment on the inside of the tanks. Once they are assembled, we prime the outside except for the part that will be painted when the plane is painted, which is done when the plane it painted, of course.

I alodined my tanks inside just because that's how my Beech was, but
I wouldn't say that it's necessary at all. I think most people
would not do that just for simplicity sake. You definitely
don't want to paint, prime, or apply any type of removable coating to
the tanks skins inside. To the outside, you just do the same
as you would for the rest of the plane.

I alodined the tank parts on my -10. Partially for consistency and partially because I used a dip tank for the skins and other parts so it was unavoidable to do both sides of some of the parts.
