I had the same issue this morning.  It was ceased up.  I put a few drops of Marvel Mystery oil in the nose (after removing the nose piece) and cycled about 2 dozen times and all was well.   I  have the older “larger” HF riveter.  It has worked well for 2 planes for me so far!

    My HF riveter doesn't want to grab the rivet shank anymore.   

    

    Any quick fix, or do I get another one?
