Yeah, I used Coke can aluminum for the shims. S/H originally supplied some kind of laminated washer, but by the time we got around to it, the glue had hardened and I wasn't able to peel away the layers.

Ideally, as the previous writer said, when the spacers are right, you should be able to bear down on the axle nut without causing the nose gear bearing to bind.

Hi Mike,

I'm doing final work on my nose gear and can't find anything in my plans about the wheel assembly. You have them or can you just walk me through it?

P.S. There is a new service bulletin 160 that says to replace the axle sheer nut with a tension nut.
