				Gentlemen, venerable Walt Lannon,

since some of us are using 100LL on our CJ engines
and not the by the manufactor recommended 70 octane
spirit, our combustion seems to be more abrupt.

So I gathered my remaining and from libations abused
grey cells and adjusted my 24 degrees stamped magnetos
on a pre-ignition angle of 9.5 degrees, that totals my pre-
angle to 33.5 instead of 31 degrees.

The outcoming was amazing (and I was not leaning towards
some red wine). The engine runs smoother, less fuel
consumption, less vibrations, better throttle response
and my wife (the pilot) is much happier.

If you see any flaw in this theorie, please share your thoughts.
It might prevent an engine failure and save some lifes on day.

  Thank you in advance.

  cheers

  Elmar (C-FTKL)
