Ferg,



I have the Dynon supplied MP sensor and the Smart avionics one for  

their prop controller.  Both are mounted on the firewall and connected  

(using Europa supplied 6mm fuel tubing & a T piece) to the MP sensing  

point on the carb balance cross tube (or what ever it's called!)

Hi Ferg.

Same as Simon, but only the Dynon sensor. Saves a T-piece, a sensor and some tubing and some weight.  The D180 map is a bit jumpy, too sensitive, whereas the Smart Avionics controller has a more steady reading. Both readings do precisely agree. The Smart Avionics controller also has a % power indication, which seems to be pretty precise.

If you put a small restrictor in the feed to the Map sensor it will

smooth out the pulses so the Dynon can handle the fluctuation ,

Hi Ivor,



The restrictor option crossed my mind, for a very brief moment. As the CS controller, with exactly the same input clearly shows, it is possible to smooth out electronically. That way the sensitivity and lag are adjustable, a restrictor is not. Maybe Mike should offer his services at Dynon, or should start making his own EFIS/EMS. 



Basically, mechanical solutions are born dead, just like the typewriter we all once admired. Long live the sixpack
