I flew my 601 HDS with the nose gear wheel pant mounted.
The plane needed more up elevator trim and flew 5 knts slower.
Has anyone experienced the same problem?
Would appreciate any thoughts, words of wisdom, etc>

Greg,
I originally had Zenith wheel fairings fitted, but removed them because
they were too round at the
front, much like a basket ball. The fairings still should be smoother
than the fork, tire and axles hanging out.
The ZAC front wheel fairing caused my rudder action to continue to
rotate in any right or left turn
because the nose of the pant was so far forward of the tire. I
ultimately designed a wheel pant that was much
more elliptical like a sunfish front to rear. Performance improved
considerably and the nose
gear remains stable. With my wheel fairings, the plane seems more
slippery in pitch.
I can't see how you'd end up going slower though, even with the gunboat
Zenith wheel fairings.
