To anyone that has used Flightline Interiors firewall insulation:

How did you seal the edges of the insulation?

I didn't, but I've heard of people using RTV to fill around the edges.
Don't see why it's needed though.

Larry,

I am using the orange high temp permatex. I think Tim used Proseal on his but I'm not positive, he may chime in after me.

I was thinking of something like metal tape or duct tape. Didn't think
of permatex.
thanks

You got my reply that I didn't use anything. That's around the edges
that I'm talking about. When I cut the material, it would actually fit
in it's place without anything holding it, and I bet I could fly for
hours without it falling. That's not safe though, so I used 26B
red Hi-Temp permatex to glue it in place. I just squirted some squiggly
lines behind each panel and made an outline an inch or two from the
edge of it and then stuck the insulation panel in place. It holds
just fine. The red permatex seems to dry nice and quick too.

No proseal for me in this application....stick with the simple stuff.
I really don't see a need to seal the edges, but I suppose some builders
may not have that opinion. If so, I'd just use black/grey permatex.
