I've convinced myself that an autopilot is now a 'must have' item. The apparent choices seem to be Trio's EZpilot, or TruTrac's Pictoral Pilot II. Any Pro/Con comments on either. Or alternatives.

I have come to the same conclusion for my 6 and had the same question and would be interested in everyones input also. There are people I have the highest respect for some have Trios and some have TruTrac all have opinions it seems to be like tip up or slider, trike or tail dragger - go with what ya like. I noticed Dynon now has a AP and I was thinking of putting a Dynon in my 6 so ????? When I have a hard time deciding I just go FLY and forget about it Smile

There are more choices: The navaid (it does work), Dynon and Bluemountain all also have autopilots. (Though I agree that you have probably narrowed your search to the best 2. Never heard anyting bad negative about either.

Sorry for being non-helpful. Smile

Just be aware that apparently Trio has a wing leveler/altitude hold in one
unit coming out soon.

I normally don’t get into these what is better deals but my dealings with Tru Trac have been excellent. The product does just what they say or maybe even better and the customer service is the best.

I have the TruTrak Digiflight !! and I use it on all cross country flights. They only problem I’ve had is it doesn’t work well when it’s cold out. <32 F.     I don’t know if any others have been tested in cold weather.

I use the Trio auto pilot and it works great. I had
oscillation problems with the old servo but the new
"gold" servo from Trio works fine. The folks at Trio
are excellent and give very good service.
