I am very pleased to announce the First flight of G-IVER at 0831 today, My good friend and flying companion Bob Harrison came down to Lydd to witness the event, and without his encouragement and sage advise she probably wouldn’t be flying for at least a couple of more years,
She is a little bit of a porker J at 910 lb but you wouldn’t know it from the way she climbed away, It flew straight and true and is a delight to fly, I am looking forward to all the test flying at long last, All I can say is the 40 minutes of flight time today is ample reward for the years of building,
One very happy bunny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

congratulation Ivor - I'm sure you've been wearing the 'Europa Grin' all day - Good luck with the test flying program - hope to see you and G-IVER at Rochester very soon. Well done and thanks for the help you've given us on the way.

OK, the WWII plane spotter’s guide was: “If it's ugly, it's British; if it's weird, it's French; and if it's ugly and weird, it's Russian.” So, what is that tri-motor abomination (G-BDOT in case the guide is not sufficient) in the foreground of the third photo?

It’s a Trislander. They’ve got a couple of them down at Lydd doing trips to the Channel Islands and the likes.

Cheers,
Jeremy

Hi! Dave
Ivor will be in dreamland yet so I’ll do a quick reply XS c/w ……914 and Woodcomp SR3000 Scimitar c/w Smart controller and lots of electronic guismo’s I would suggest making it as near IFR capable as possible. He is going to find it difficult not to be in it constantly …….then we have the price of our fuel to work as a brake !

Regards
Bob Harrison G-PTAG Kit 337.

Ivor,

congratulations from our family w all the ladies you remember here in Finland!

It is about 6 years you visited us and our planes we only some strange bits and pieces in those days. Years have gone and we both are flying as per dreamed and advertised.

My wife stated your Europa´s painting scheme is extremely sporty and good looking.
That is much because she is quite fastidious!

The juicy porkers taste much more delicious than some skinny birds (XRT´s weight is 885 lbs or even more today).

Congratulations Ivor on attaining your dream. I'm still having nightmares hoping the dream will one day be a reality too !

Sorry I'm a bit late but it takes a while for the news to reach us over here you know.

Cheers for now and I hope you enjoy many happy hours of flying in your new creation which I have to say looks very nice indeed.

Kingsley from the land of meat pies, kangaroos and Holden cars . . . . . and hopefully more Europas one day!

Hey ! “Down here” not “over here” . Just get on Kingsley eliminate all the other pass times and get focused. You can do the other playing around when enhanced by the freedom made possible by the ‘Plane!
