Well, today I flew a Cessna 172 about 190 miles south to Grants Pass, Oregon and attended my first Fly-In. I specifically went because I knew there would be 2 601's there. I met Ron Asbill and his XL with a Jabiru in it. He answered a lot of questions I had. The second plane was an HD. Both were very nice planes. This was another completion of a dream of mine. I have always wanted to FLY to a FLY-IN and it was great! The air was really smooth. I wanted to go home via the Oregon coast, but when I got halfway there, I listed to the ASOS and it reported a 2,000 ceiling. I was at 5500 and could not see nothing below, so I headed home. It was great flying over my old neighborhoods and places where I grew up. I had a blast. With that part out of the way, the next part of the dream is to fly my own plane! It will be much cheaper than renting a Cessna! It was over 100 degree's here today and the density altitude was crazy for Oregon! I really expected a bumpy ride, but it was like glass once you got above 2500 feet. If your working on your license. Don't give up! It is so worth it!!! I have put in 20 hours this month alone!!!! I have to stop and pour the money into my little bird! It was my longest cross country yet. 4.5 hours and I a tired! Excitement does that to you!
Everybody keep building, training and flying!
