Hey Guys: I just purchased an Icom IC a200 for my Exp.Helo and the manual
says;: if one uses a dynamic mic, a preamp is required... the mics(headsets) I
see in AC spruce and larceny are dynamic ...do they have built in preamps or am
I barking up the wrong tree..and need to look further??? (.Microphone
challenged) ...Jim Lynch

Don't know what you're looking at from Spruce, but just about all
aviation headsets these days use electret condenser mics.
