Larry C Thanks for the web link. I ordered 5 feed just to have on hand. That price for 14" wide clear tape is unreal. There are many times I wanted some of that tape to protect paint on a car C motorcycle tank C etc. I'll use it on the gap seal C Alla Lynn Matteson top side only. Lynn C if that curls down into the gap C rather than up C I don't know why anybody would use any other method.

We have a winner! I'm going to order some of this stuff. There are probably lots of other uses besides gap seal.

 Thanks,

I think the amount of "curl down" can be controlled by the amount
that you press down between the tubes themselves....simply press more
into the gap before pressing onto the tubes and it should stay there.
I usually just lay it over the gap equally spaced on both sides and
press it down. I didn't get too worried about whether it went up or
down, although down would be preferred.

Lynn C Didn't you say you have elavator at full down and then apply tape. This wouldn't require any pushing tape into groove. Or would having some tape pushed into groove insure the tape would curl into the groove when elevator was raised?

I put my tape on at full down, yes, and like you observed, just
having a little "down into" radius will assure that it stays there
when the 'vator is raised. I may try to apply some from the bottom
side with the 'vator held up, and see how that works...along with the
 top being covered.

Lynn C I was also wondering how covering both sides with your method of full elevator up and down would work. I'm not to that stage yet. As a matter of fact I received today the RAC servo from ACS to use with Lowell Fitts trim tab kit. So C I will be tearing my elevator apart.  Have you got a trim tab on the elevator? Or C do you use the Flaperons to trim?

Factory-built trim tab with RAC servo. Using the flaperons for trim
slows the plane down, which is why one of the Speedster mods was the
 electric trim.

				Patrick,
You will love that elevator trim tab of Lowell's ! It makes the Kitfox a new airplane ! I have the trim switch(witches hat) on the top of my stick and use it constently. Flaps never come into play for triming purposes as they used too. Best investment I ever made !

Dick C Thanks for the picture I am about to leave for the hanger to pick up my elevator. I will tear into it today. I figure the cost will be about $450 give or take a few. What electrical wire did you use and what was the source?
