Hi Folks,
I am presently looking over the NSI prop control unit out of Graeme Tofts'
ditched Kitfox. After a thorough cleanup it looks pretty good, especially
considering that if forgot it was out of an aircraft and tried to be a
submarine controller for a few hours. There are no fried tracks and
components, so I am quite hopefull that it can be resurrected.
Before I launch into the unknown, I thought I would ask if anyone on the
list has a copy of the circuit schematics for this unit, or at least, a
connection diagram. This will make my job a lot easier, otherwise, I'll
just have to do it the hard way and trace everything out first.
Any help that you can give will be greatly apreciated.
Regards

Colin, my control unit filled with water when my airplane sat out in a heavy
thunderstorm. This was before I came up with a good seal and drain trough
for the windshield. The only reason I found that it had water in it was
because the pitch control became erratic. After removal, a good clean with
soap and water, and thoroughly dried, it's worked fine ever since.
I doubt there'll be anything wrong with it once it's cleaned up nicely.
As for schematics, none that I know of outside of the factory. However, if
you find that it isn't working properly you might try Mykal Templeman from
Stratus Subaru. I think he might have access to CAP parts.

Thanks Deke,
I've pretty sure it will be OK, however, this unit was submerged in salt
water for a while which is pretty agressive and, it went in with power
still applied. The only real concern I have is the micro-controller. If it
is dead, while I can certainly get another (its a standard component), I
would need to then get my hands on the firmware.
Thanks for the contact name. If I need to, I'll give him a call.

Colin
I have the external wiring diagram. Is that what you want?
