I'm building an RV-10 and purchased the Chelton displays at Oshkosh 2005
because of the deal they had. I really didn't want to buy that early because
I was building the wings, but I couldn't pass up the free autopilot. If I
hadn't bought then, I would have a hard time deciding now with the price
increase. Maybe they'll have a better deal at SNF or OSH.
I agree with everything that Tim Olson said about the quality of the
displays. The cost was more than I really wanted to pay, but it does
everything I want and does it well, not to mention that the display quality
is better than anything else that I compared it to. The display quality
really sells it for me.
Paying all of the cash upfront is tough (I really squirmed at the thought of
losing the money) but a lot of people have trusted D2A and I haven't heard
of any problems. I had to wait about 6 months to get my displays, but I did
get them. Research the distributor you buy them from though, because there
are differences in their business practices that may surprise you. At this
point, I'm glad I bought them and would do it again.
