Use B-2 or better known as Proseal to stick an >016 small patch on the backside of the hole then fair over the outside with whatever you want. wont come off crack etc.

Also B-2 can be used to fill rivet heads since it sets -up like hards rubber and can be painted with no problem. Be warned it is not cheap and it is the messiest junk that you will ever have to work with. It is used for aircraft fuel tank sealant as primary purpose have plenty of MEK to clean up with
