Some flights brought me to places like this, chasing my shadow, low level
flight across the desert between the Rock House and the Alvord Desert in
Oregon.

North end of the Ruby Mountains between Wells and Elko, NV. We were bless
with a beautiful day of flying from Wendover, UT, and the old WWII Army Air
Corps Airbase. For those interested in military history, here is a good web

Bottom center of the photo, left of the trail, is the FSII and Larry
Cottrell, flying down the creek to the Owyhee River Canyon. The tiny FSII
puts the size of the area into prospective.

Flying north and down stream over the Owyhee River Canyon and backwaters of
the lake. One of my favorite photos of this flight.

Blanding, UT, to meet up with Mike Marker, then fly on to Wendover, UT.

We landed at Owyhee Reservoir State Airport. Check it out:

This was just prior to Memorial Day Weekend. One gentleman in a Super Cub
said he had been spending Memorial Day holidays here since 1981. Only way
in and out is by air or boat. Larry Cottrell can correct me if I am wrong.
This is a photo of Larry Cottrell and Mike Marker. Although Mike was flying
his RANS S-18, he also built and flies a FSII.
