Subject: Re: Need some RV tire/tube advice

When I was Chief CFI of a flying school that had in excess of 30 aircraft we ALWAYS used retreads when feasible. They would last longer by far than the original treads. Some went as far as to get more plys so the carcass would last for more re-treads. If I recall correctly it seems like the Cessna 210 was a problem with retreads due to extremely tight wheel wells (older models with all of the gear doors). This was in the 70's but get same reports from CFI's during the Flight Instructor Refresher Clinics I teach. Also not really same subject, but insure the filament of your landing and taxi lights are vertical, they will last a lot longer also.
