Forgot to add,
One of the other motivations is to be able to change the nose profile.
In its extreme, perhaps one nose profile could be drooped for extreme short field activities. Then for a long range run, a more bullet shaped nose would give higher speed. They could be switched in an hour or so.
A couple hundred bucks worth of aluminum would let me experiment with getting a nose I prefered.
