Do the valves generally need much adjusting?

Typically they were run for 3 to 4 hours during the run in and
testing. We
use mineral oil for the first 30 hours. Our practice is to make an
initial
oil change at 5 to 7 hours and the next change at the 30 hour mark.
We also
check and re-adjust the valves the 30 hour mark and then at every
100 hrs or
annually.

Yes. We have seen engines with serious problems at 200 hrs because the
owners never adjusted the valves.

Hi George -

You may recall you assemble my YAK-55 for me a few years ago.

Now I'm based at Livermore CA ... would have any leads of someone who could adjust the valves around the SF Bay Area? Not sure I want to fly her cross country right now for a valve job ....

Wink
