				| Hello,
Are any other UK based Europas thinking of flying to Texel this year? I plan to go in G-CHOX. Only 2 others are currently pre-registered, G-IVER and G-IPOD.

 Any other takers?

 Goff

				| Hi! Goff.
Thanks for the "heads up" I was thinking I had already registered but on
checking find not, so I have now.
All very much presuming I can get respite time off and must be back on time
to start a journey to Ayr for Ivor's Daughters' wedding on 21st!(regretfully
 overland !)
Last year I flew direct over the North Sea and found it a "breeze" but I'd
want the weather to oblige for a similar trip this time.
 Regards
 Bob Harrison G-PTAG

				| Chaps (and Chapesses),
As a newby to this European touring lark it would be great to have some info from others about routing. As G-IPOD has just undergone (under going actually) a mild panel re-fit, the direct sea crossing is a bit daunting. Maybe flying in loose formation would make it less of a strain? How are other UK based Europas routing to Texel?

I guess l could join Mr Joyce's 6Ns tour and get there the long way around!!!

Weather may be a little iffy - hopefully September will win through again.
 Regards
 JW

				| John, Where are you based and when do you hope to go to Texel?
I am hoping to go out on Friday with Dave Bosomworth from Popham and another
Europa in tow would not be a problem
Our routing is normally Dover - Konan- Ostend. Although it is over water for
an hour you can see the coast on either side all the way (visibility
 permitting!!).

				| Guys, thanks for all the input.
My plane is based at Great Oakley, so l am very close to the E coast. Logical routing is straight across to north of AMS TMA. I would be happier doing this for the first time in a loose gaggle of aircraft. However, l am happy to meet up at Lydd or elsewhere. The routing info was useful, l guess that constitutes the AFPex FP input?

The plane is currently at Henstridge, having had its panel mildly modified with a TT21, SL30, ELT and a D10A added. Assumption is that it will all work correctly following the collection and ferry back to Gt Oakley.

I guess the best plan is to ensure my plane is good to go and then reconnect via the forum early next week. The weather will be cleared by then and the routing option may be reduced due to Wx.

 Regards
 John

				| John,
I am planning to leave Rochester at about lunch time on Saturday and come back after lunch on Sunday if you don't fancy the whole weekend. This will be subject to weather as we are planning to camp. We could go in loose formation if you are interested routing DVR KONAN KOK then up the coast.
