I prefer a quadrant, but my airplane has push controls. To me it is personal preference.

I used push pull. On other plane is built, using a quadrant, the gas control would creep. Could be it doesn't make a whole lot of difference. Kent

Mike,

I think the best way to determine that is to sit in the plane, determine where you would prefer to have the controls, if you that choice based on your setup and then make the determination based on what would be the most comfortable. Remember you will spend a lot of time with your hands on those controls during most operations and comfort and ease of use will be important.

That's like asking "should I marry this woman or that woman".  Choose the one that feels best.

Hi Al,
The real questions to me would be, "Do you want to control the stick with your right hand or your left hand?" If you were thinking about putting a throttle quadrant in the center or making a console to put it in, "DON'T" and here is the reasoning for that. Ineveable you will be getting under the instrument panel to work on the brake peddles or something near the fire wall. If you put anything in the center and block off your access to the front, you will forever regret it. It's hard enough to crawl under there as it is. Now, if you put in a throttle quadrant on the left side, on the fuselage you will fly with your right hand but you now need to put a control of some sort on the right side in case the pilot becomes incapacicated and the passanger has to take over.
My thoughts, Jesse Wright
