Hello to everyone, I am new to the website and seeking information. I drive a Pitts S1 D, IO360 with high compression pistons solid crank, the big ends balanced to 2 g, maximum continuous RPM 3000. Putting out about 190 hp perhaps a little more. I am looking to see what options I have for a propeller, I currently have Hartzall, fixed pitch Which allows about 2700rpm (at)12-130kn. Am happy to look at electric variable/CSU or fixed pitch of any type. I am looking for advice as to what has been done before.

My thoughts were initially to seek a composite prop, fixed pitch to allow 2900-3000 rpm straight and level full throttle at 4000 feet ~ 130-140kn. The major limitation in the system as the pilot of course who is old grey slow and stupid! For it is worth the usual vertical is between 140-160 kn at 3000-3100 rpm after a small by dive. 6G onto the vertical, and all seems to work quite well. The question so any advice and help would be gratefully received.

Talk to Craig Catto of Catto props, or alternatively to Performance Props. Either can fix you up with a great prop I believe.

I can vouch for Performance Props. My IO-360-A1A engine with 3 blade Perf. Prop is 3000 rpm S&L. Great climb. Good top speed. Looks great. very light. Good service. What else do you need.
