Well I survived Sun'n Fun ,
living in Europe this was my first opportunity to have a holiday in USA
during one of the two big airshows: Yippee !!!!!! , arriving in Florida on
Monday to torrential rain , i decided not to go on the Tuesday as it
"might be a bit Muddy ",
Wednesday , the weather channel was advising all but essential travel
since a major storm was sweeping across central Florida , so i didn't go
again , thinking it could only get better . Thursday I woke to driving rain
again , and a forecast of more storms including tornado warnings, i
thought they must have been joking as this was still March so decided
again to stay put , ( just as well when a tornado hit the field).
Friday morning was blue skies , so into the car , "Yippee" finally off to
Sun n Fun , i then spent 3.5 hours in a traffic jam trying to get into
the mud carparks. Finally got in to the show ground at 14:30 just as the
airshow was starting , which was nice but nothing special ( particularly
since it consisted mainly all day of the Blue Angels doing practice routines
, in preparation for their Saturday show ) ,
Once inside with the exception of seeing all the carnage from the previous
day, (which was breaking my heart seeing the owners particularly
homebuilders trying to salvage what they could ) there were just a handful
of planes in the homebuilt parking area , and having spent too much time
trying to photograph either the blues or the raptor , only managed a quick
visit to two of the hangers , before it all closed at 5:00p
Saturday i left for Europe again ( "Delta" lost my Luggage , but they
have now found it in Detroit ?) ,
so my dream vacation was not a success,
Question : what is the weather in Oshkosh normally like , before I book my
tickets
