Hi all,
I am new to this list and am looking after an engine change on another Lister's Rocket.
A couple of the engine mount rubbers are perished and I am after the P/N used as the aircraft and  original rubbers are not in the same locality as me!
The gentleman who originally built the aircraft kindly lists the P/N in the logbooks but they are somewhat unreadable.
Numbers look to be 7763-48 and J9612-8
Engine is a Lyc IO-540-C4-B5

Any assistance here as to what the correct P/N for this set up is would be greatly appreciated.

G'day Jay,

They'll probably be the same as the Aztec C4B5 mount, which are Lord J-9613-12 for later model PA23-250.

I'm using Barry Mount 94011-02, same part # at Aircraft Spruce.

Kind regards, Stu

I talked with an engineer at Lord a few years ago and this is what he said:
"The J-9613-12 has a "compression" sandwich and a
"tension" sandwich on each side of the engine mount - the compression
side takes the 1G weight of the overhanging engine. That's why the
sandwiches are reversed top to bottom. I wouldn't normally recommend
flying negative g's with this arrangement since the engine motion will
be higher upside down, but if Team Rocket recommends them and everyone is happy with it, it may be OK. It's a softer system than the
J-7764-31, which has compression sandwiches all around, so you'll get
better vibration isolation.

Our distributor, Herber Aircraft Services (800-544-0050), may have both
parts in stock - ask for Ryan, she's very helpful.

Paul Snyder"

They recommend the J-7764-31 if you're going to do inverted aerobatics.

I just went through all of this, including calling Lord, asking for recommendations from reputable sources and searching all of the on-line resources that I could.
I finally decided that the Lord J-9613-12 was the appropriate one.

Some folks (including Mark Frederick) recommended the Barry mounts due to price, others (Aero Sport, many others) recommended Lord for quality.
