Bill,

For w&b calculations a few litres of unuseable fuel on each side will make little difference. The quantity depends on the position of you pickup tube and the attitude of the plane.
But, it is far better to know what the minimum fuel is likely to be in flight, then err significantly on the conservative side to make sure you don't even get close to that number.
I know that, on the ground, my tanks have less than 2 litres each when the flow stops. It would be madness though to approach that in flight.

The unusable fuel in flight depends very much on the flight conditions. I have done those measurements for the Columbia 400 and found it varies greatly from <1.5 gal (smooth air, wings level) to about 4 gal per tank (wing) in turbulent, sideslip, steep climb or descent conditions. For certified airplanes, the worst case (in this case 4 gal) is declared unusable. Total qty per wing was 50 gal. For the Pulsar, I would think 1/2 gal is appropriate if your pickup is low enough and you do not slosh it around.

Just a word of caution, In a hard long slip the fuel pickup will unport.
Flying into Thermal, I usually come in over the mountains at 7500 ft and
have to drop to -185 to land at Thermal. So, yes, I do a hard slip to drop
altitude at near 1500 ft/min. If I have the tank selected that is away from
the slip and I have less than 4 gal. the pickup will unport.
