I am going to replace the prop on my KIS TR-1 that has a Cont. IO-240. It currently has a Sensenich 69x72.

I am interested in what prop you are using and its static RPM, Max power RPM and speed and 2550 RPM speed.

Please expand your comments to include your opinion on changes you would recommend to your prop, if any.

Your comments on the manufacturer. Or other suggestions.

Thanks for your help,

Tim N52TY

What don't you like about your current prop?

Other than I broke it, it was low on static RPM, 2000. Max power at 3000'
was 2800RPM so cruise was good but I would like better T/O performance. I
was wondering if someone had a design that doesn't have such a wide spread.
Is 800 static to max RPM seems like allot.

A friend has a TR-1 with a LYC 0-320 and his is more like 2350 static and
2700 max. I forget the manufacture, it is 65" long I believe.

This is a place to start....

http://www.culverprops.com/pitchselection.htm

I have a prince prop I am happy with. The tip is swept so the blades twist to a somewhat finer pitch on takeoff. My prince prop is 68x80 and it turns 2700 rpm at 200 mph level on my taildragger TR-1 with RV-8 wheelpants and gear leg fairings on mains and tailwheel fairings which matches well to the website calculator.

What top speed did you get out of your old prop?

The Elippse propeller design is also worth concidering. The prince guy makes the elippse props but someone else designs them. The prince guy is pretty responsive to emails.

I din't know of any KIS owners that use a Warp Drive prop but it seems to me to be a good choice.
