Hi,

My Nippondenso altrnator was charging at 14.9 max. I was unable to get
info from Duralast ( the rebuilder), Toyata dealers, Matronics RV site,
and some A&Ps re: the proper wiring. I had a wire to the field post but
none to the sense post. With the help of my son, and a NAPA dealer, the
sense wire now goes to the output post and Voila! max charge is 14.2.

I thought this might help someone else.

George

Hi George,

It worked for me.  I had the same symptom and found I didn't have the sense wire installed.
14.9 went to 14.2 volts.

Thanks,

I believe (from memory) there are two pins on the plug and one output terminal, so which one is the sense wire? One pin is the field, one is the fault light, and....?   It has been a while since I wired mine.   May have "faulty" memory.....<:

My regulator on my Nippondenso is NAPA UR572SB. There are three pins.
Two are parallel and vertical, one is perpendicular and horizontal. The
perpendicular pin is above the parallel pins. It is the sense pin.
With the sense pin located above the parallel pins, the left pin is the
field pin and the right pin is for the automatic choke according to
NAPA dealer info. We, of course have no automatic choke so it is not
used. Left pin field wire from bus, top pin sense wire to output post.
It works that way.
