Hi

Does anyone know if it's possible to fit either the B&C SD20S or the genuine Rotax alternator under the cowl on an XP ? I am concerned I won't have enough power with the standard generator to run my planned Dynon installation with additional stuff !
Thanks

Hi Scott,I have been there, and I have replaced all the conventional Whelan navigation lights and strobes with LED's. I have plane with all the lights, red, green and white tail with two wing strobes running at 1.8A at comparable or better intensity than the original filament bulbs. The whole show consumes less than one 25W bulb on 12V. This way I have plenty left for all the other toys - usual Rotax alternator gives 17A - 1.8A = 15.2A to play with. Easier than adding another alternator...Call me on 07979510153

Scott,
I have all LED landing lights, strobes, etc with a Dynon D180 and I can run the radio, transponder , fuel pump , essentially turn on everything and I have enough to run everything .

I do not see how you could mount another alternator, just to crowded.
