I had my Bendix mags overhauled following a prop strike. The overhauled mags came back with "ring-and-post" connections to replace the "cigarette" connections I had previously. (photo attached)

The left magneto has a "retard" post to which I assume my "shower of sparks" output attaches. Both mags have a pretty evident post to which I plan to attach the core of the P-lead wire from my magneto switches (I have two magneto switches instead of a single key-operated starter switch.) I have wired the magneto switches as recommended by Bob Nuckels in his book, option "B".

The Question: Where does the SHIELD part of the wire get connected to the magneto to ground it?

The obvious point would be the gold-colored screw to the right and below the left mag (and the similar screw to the left and below the right mag). Does anyone have a similar setup with Bendix mags? Please advise.

Thanks,
Randy

You are correct. The mag schematic is posted on the Bendix website FYI.

My advice is to install electronic ignition and never look back...
