All-
Upper longerons are bent. Used Scott's jig and no template. No matter what you say, getting ideas from the list is beneficial.
My take on it-
1. Whoever said this could be done using Larry Mac's method or a variation in 1/2 hr is FOS. I came in right around 4 hrs., which is what Larry logged.
2. If you're going with Scott's jig, use schedule 40 pipe. Even with 40 I had major distortion in the pipe. Schedule 30 would have collapsed for sure.
3. If I were to do this again, I wouldn't use a jig. Just clamp the same piece of 2" schedule 40 you have to use to bend the lower nose bowl on your bench and have at it. Just pushing the extruded L against the pipe, I could have finished both sides in a 1/2 hr
NOTE: LAY OUT THE TEMPLATE ON YOUR WORKBENCH FOR A REFERENCE..
