				Evening Group,
Just a question from the outside looking in from the outside sort a speak. Has anyone seen these videos from Homebuild help that did not go to the workshop Zenith HQ? I'm thinking I might flop my money down on that rudder video just to give me some idea even though I won't act on buying anything until flight training is done. I might wind up using Gleim for my studying for the written.

  take care,

I have seen them and I think they are really good, but maybe I’m a bit biased? No Really, the videos are not a high cost production, you will not find any green screen shots or for that matter would you ever see a second take. The information is shown as if you were standing right there, it is a personal approach and presented with a new person in mind. You won’t find any premadonna’s it is just simple down to earth folks showing you the basis for the knowledge you need to build a plane.

The video’s are worth every cent, some can save you over two years of learning, the new 701 series will easily save a person at least a year of construction time and may even STOP the down time from not understanding a procedure. One thing to always remember though ,there are many ways of working on a part to achieve a final goal, these videos are not the only way to build, they are just one way and will provide a final result that is desirable. They are also not performed by actors, they are done by guys that have been there and done that before you and just want to share knowledge that they have accumulated over the years.

No One has figured out the SOCK yet though! Last seen he was stealing the brownies. However, reports have it he may be hiding behind another control panel.

				Hi Ben,

I just ordered the rudder kit without any video or travel to
learn. It was an experiment to see whether I could do the work
involved in all-metal construction. The rudder kit came with plenty
of help in the form of photo assembly guide, builders manual,
drawings, and all the parts needed to build the rudder.

I got hooked and have been building a Zodiac for the last two
years. It is nearly done and will fly either later this year or
 early next year.

 Good luck

				Ben,

I purchased the panel construction and the two fuselage construction DVDs. They are all very good. You will learn a lot. A major facet is the coverage of why you leave some rivets until later. It then starts to make a lot of sense.

  I highly recommend them.

I bought a small DVD portable player and play the video in my aircraft
factory step by step as I build. The remote lets me go back over a step
as many times as necessary. It's like having a personal instructor at my
elbow. My hat's off the Jon Croke. His videos are a great confidence
builder and shouldn't be missed. Robert Schoenberger 701

				Listers:
I am finishing up on the Rear Fuselage using the DVD that Jon sells and concur wholeheartedly with Robert's comment below.  I use my older MAC in the garage and often go over the video numerous times to make sure I understand what the next step is.  I have not made any errors or scrapped any parts since getting the video.  I still spend some time on the Zenith drawings and pictorial guides and, on one occasion, found the latter to be a simpler explanation to the procedure to be followed.  I will be starting on the forward fuselage in a week or so and have Jon's video to guide the way.  My thanks to Jon for a superior instructional aid.

Just about finished my rudder and am starting on the stab soon. I have not attended any workshop and have found the video invaluable. Watch it before you start, watch it along the way as a refresher and watch it for specific sections if you get stuck. It's clarified things for me several times. I would highly recommend them.

Not sure about betamax, but we could ask for 8mm and all dig those old
projectors out of the basement, now where did I put that screen?

				Thank you Mark,

I had to fish you email out of the Spam folder. Next Monday or so I will be ordering it and then I will see how feel after watching the video. If I still think that I can do it then. My next step will be to get the manual and plans. Right now I feel good about it and I think even though I don't have any sheet metal experrience I still this it is doable.
