My plane flies exactly like Kitfoxmike's description. If you're in a glide, you really aren't going to get any stall out of it. It'll basically just mush,
and you'd be a pretty poor pilot if you didn't know the mush was about
to start. I used to fly with a vane type AOA indicator on the left lift
strut when I test flew the plane, and found pretty quickly that a Kitfox
like mine doesn't need an AOA device. It is very easy to tell where
it is with regard to the stall.

However, full power with the IO-240 and the 74" prop I have, will result
in some REALLY exciting stalls. However, just like the power off stall,
you'd be a real idiot not to be awake in these circumstances either.

I find if you keep the ball centered and the AIS over 60 you will not ever have a problem, turn or no turn.

Jeff,
You made me think of the first time I got my fox to spin. I kept trying to
get it to stall , steeper each time and more turn, push a pedal at the
break, it would just spiral down. I kept it up one morning until the thing
made a power break, and I pulled the throttle and the nose did a pendulum
type of thing, with the nose falling and tucking under. At this point the
baby just started to spin. I think it took a turn just to figure out what
happened.

I think I had a tear when I got it stopped.

Is my Kitfox really so unique that it's the only one that can be stalled in a power off glide? If it's not then isn't it dangerous to say things like "my Kitfox doesn't stall so yours won't either"?

Luis,
I believe it means you are in the rear of your balance envelope. There is a
good deal of flight difference between the front and rear of the envelope. I
actually keep about 25 lbs of "emergency" stuff in the baggage compartment
to make mine stall a 3 point, other wise it is in the front end of the
envelope and will not stall. I have flown 14 or 15 different foxes and they
all have different characteristic depending on the position of the
horizontal stabilizer and the washout of the wing along with weight and
balance.

OK. Sounds like a good reason to not give advice based on broad generalizations about flight characteristics.

Ok, not always will mine stall on the landing for the three point. So what do I do? well I don't add weight to the luggage compartment. What I do now is just put in the right pitch on final and use the throttle to settle her on the runway, makes a nice gentle touch down every time. When the wife is in the plane and we are running heavy(by the way my empty weight is 650) full fuel and the wife in the right side, and the density altitude is up there, I tend to drop and stall on landing. So a bunch of throttle in this configuration above is needed, otherwise when by myself and less fuel, I just fly it on the runway with the pitch up and use throttle to ease it on the runway. OH! and NO flaps. I have no reason to land with a 100ft roll out anyway. I guess this allows the nose to come up as well.
