I just got this from the Sacramento Bee website:

Small plane crash injures two in Placerville
By Niesha Lofing - Bee Staff Writer
Last Updated 9:24 am PDT Thursday, August 30, 2007

A small plane has crashed in Placerville near the El Dorado campus of
Folsom Lake College, injuring two Cameron Park residents on board.

The experimental plane took off at 6:15 a.m. and was headed for Idaho,
said El Dorado County Sheriff's deputy Phil Chovanec. It went down about
15 minutes later on private property on Greenwood Lane, just north of
Green Valley Road, said El Dorado County Sheriff's Lt. Kevin House.

The man and woman, whose names were not released, were taken to area
hospital, where they are listed in stable condition. Both are conscious
and are being treated for moderate injuries.

The FAA identified the aircraft as N96KL owned by Lowell Fitt of Cameron
Park. In my initial post I said this happened yesterday, but I
now, believe it happened this morning. It has not hit the FAA Preliminary
 Accident data yet.

Good Lord! I don't know what to say ... if you can, please keep us
informed about their health; the reason of the crash and circumstances
 can wait!

Thanks, John, that's the news I wanted to hear. For you, guys in the
US: while I live in Europe and never had the pleasure to meet Lowell
and Kay, as some of you has, I nearly did last year, when I was about
to fly to San Francisco with my son. Lowell and Kay had invited me to
their place and I was really looking forward to meet them at Cameron
Park, the dream residence for pilots. Alas, a sudden illness of our
grand daughter prevented us to do the trip. Lowell has also helped me a
lot with parts for my plane.

I would like then join you to give my best wishes to Kay and Lowell for
a prompt return to a normal life and let me participate if we can do
anything to brighten their next days. Contact me off-list for any
 arrangement.

 Best regards,
 Michel

Terrible news of Lowell and Kay's injuries and loss of a sweet aircraft !

Great news that they will mend and hopefully get back in the saddle again in the near future.

It is really sad to hear about this. Glad they will be ok. Now for the airplane, it's his baby, he will hurt at that lose. He may have future problems with the FAA, maybe a check ride. He will have withdrawls, he WILL have problems with getting back in the saddle, his wife will have problems of this kind as well. I wish him all that can be given for the hurdles he has in store. I personally know what it's like to crash an airplane, not fun, the aftermath that is. Many people come back and bash you as a pilot, not fun either. I wish Lowell and his wife the best.

Thanks so much for the update John.
 So glad they are OK!
The plane looks terrible--go to KCRA.com for pics and short video.

I think that each of us who have survived a crash have had different
experiences, so there's no way to know how Lowell and his wife will
come through this. None of these things happened after my accident
yet I experienced a host of other issues you didn't mention.

I do share your hope that they will come through this well.

Ok, forget the ones I brought up, those were mine. The thing is, he will have some post crash issues and we all need to be sensitive to what they may be, give Lowell al the support that we can, what ever it might be.

As much as I hate to say it. What you said includes if Lowell decides not
to fly again. I hope he gets back in the saddle but if he decides not to
then I regretfully have to respect that decision.

It was not hard for me to get back in a plane after my crash. I should have been dead, but I only had a few cuts and bruises. The only thing certain in this life is that we wont get out alive...Make the best of it and enjoy it to the fullest while you are here.

I hope Lowell jumps right back in the saddle, but as Noel said, I respect it if he does not.

Does ANYONE have any info on what happened? Has anyone got an update on Lowell and his wifes condition?
