All possible Contestants:

The hired Judges from EAA Chapter 34 have asked that a few things be clarified and modified for the “Monument Valley 2008 Photo Contest”.

1. Submit your photo from past Monument Valley trips to be judged here for the awards of "Best MV Kolb Photo". Three categories have been established: Scenery, Scenery with Airplane and Scenery with Kolbers. Winners will be from each category. If you attended one of our Gatherings at MV, then you are a Kolber.
2. Photos have to be posted in this thread as a reply.
3. Include a short description of the photo.
4. Photos have to have been taken by the submitter or with their permission.
5. You can submit more than one photo to be judged in each of the 3 categories
6. Photos have to have been taken by someone flying at MV or building a Kolb or a Kolber or a family member of a Kolber.
7. Submit photos that are at least 600 pixels wide but not more than 2000 pixels wide.

Rules will be strictly adhered to in order for the winners to be declared. Photos submitted before this post to another Topic have been carried over and will be judged.

All photos submitted before 2400 hours, 12 May 2008 will be considered. Results of the “Monument Valley 2008 Photo Contest” will be announced on the Monument Valley Airport flightline Friday, 16 May 2008 at 1700 hours.

The bar has been set very high for this Contest folks, so post your best and good luck.

Made a mistake on this caption.

On the way home from MV two years ago I RON's at Lone Pine, CA. Slept under
the wing and listened to the cows moan and groan all night at the feeder lot
across the highway from the airport.

After all the pictures that have been posted, I find myself waiting for the
usual complaining of overloading every ones dial up. Perhaps they all quit
in disgust at each and everyone's disregard for their plight? Or perhaps
they just gave up and got something better than dial up----------Naw! that
doesn't make sense. :-0

Hey John H and All contestants,

The intent is to judge photos taken in the Monument Valley Area, not on the way there or back to where ever you started.

This can fit into the catagory of "picture of Kolb aircraft" (enroute to MV
if that counts). Just above my ASI and just below the crest of Sandia
Mountain is John Hauck. If you look at the instruments you will notice it's
pretty well balls to the wall to get over the mountain in mild turbulance.

Actually, Larry as a die-hard, dial-up modem gal :>)
everything has been coming through great 'cause the
photos are all attachments; I see a small thumbnail in
the original e-mail and then can download the pics at
my leisure.

Maybe it doesn't work that way for some of the other
folks, but I've been enjoying all the photos
tremendously.

Yeow! Sandia Peak is 10,678 feet, and the Crest is at 9,702 feet... You were at 7,640 and losing altitude? How'd you drill through the rock? Smile

I took this from Dave Rains plane at MV2005. I think Dave should get the
award for the most rides given. The smiles on all the kids that got out of
his plane after their ride was priceless.

I'm not sure I even met that drifter pilot at least not before he took aim
at me. What really hurt was his comment...."Wow I almost hit that girl".
