I discovered the hard way that using a Leatherman knife is not the best
way to get toys out of their packaging. Whilst doing such on one of
Caden's birthday presents on Sunday, I attempted to cut off my thumb in
the process. That "Ah, it's merely a flesh wound..." from Monty Python
came to mind. An hour later I had 3 stitches,a tetanus shot, and a note
from the ER doc saying I could come back in 7 days to get the stitches
out....our use my Leatherman. At least he had a since of humor...

So, let this be an object lesson to all us dads and grand dads...when
spreading the holiday cheer it's best to use appropriate tools for the
 job.

				Barry, thanks for the humor.

I work at PDX with a leatherman daily and we are basking in Utah weather with a City that thinks it grows roses.
Will use your advise to save all ten digits.

  Merry Christmas to all

B - two questions: 1) were you wearing a flight suit when this happened and 2) did MMO play any part in this mishap?

				Barry:

Glad to see you're keeping my compatriots in Holiday Revenue.

For all of you on the list, on this night when Christians celebrate the very incarnation of God's love made manifest amongst us, and our Jewish friends celebrate a holiday which memorializes God's faithfulness throughout the centuries, I want to thank all of you for your friendship and help throughout the years. May God grant you a blessed and wonderful holiday.

				Dave,

Thank you for your relentless support of fallibility. To answer your questions:

 1) I was wearing a flight suit and it's superior protective qualities surely kept the knife from continuing on through my fingers and attacking the half dozen kids surrounding me.

 2) Whilst MMO does indeed have antibacterial and coagulative qualities as well as easing suturing, I had used the last bit of my current stock baiting wild turkeys for our Christmas dinner.

Ahhh, but the Parachute you were wearing helped cushion the fall and protected the surface you were standing on from damage. Of course the CO badge on your flight suit also helped protect those kids in case you went down in smoke...Obviously you are a mere mortal, lacking miltary formation skills learned while flying in heavy flack, attacked by swarms of MiGs. Therefore, unlike said Super Jock, YOU required the proper tools.

What did we miss? Oh, must have been that dreadful California weather.

Thanks for the details I forgot to include, Craig. I dunno about the CA weather. I've been in Utah and it's snowed every day for the last week. I'll trade 4 months of flying for 4 months of the greatest snow on earth any day....in all reality, the only thing that rivals meeting at the merge or a good formation loop is 2 feet of fresh light powder in the chutes...today I could have either....

Oh, stitches are supposed to come out today. Now, where did I put my Leatherman??.....
