Yes John... that would be quite a stretch for a 3 or 4 day trip! High Valley is a beautiful place and excellent flight destination. Everyone that goes always enjoys it. I'm glad you're be with us in spirit!

It's been over 20 years since I've flown in the northwest. Sure would like to do that again!

Just an update to the trip. We currently have 4 planes committed and a number of folks driving up. If the weather treats us right...it should be a good trip

High Valley Resort/Airpark is a great place for Kitfox flying. 2,000' grass strip at 2,800' MSL. Mountains all the way around you. Camp next to your plane.

Hope some of the folks from this Forum can make it.

Our High Valley Resort trip starts in two days. It's still an open invitation to anyone wanting to join us. All the details are available at: http://www.enotam.net/eNOTAM/Temporary/High_Valley_Resort_05-10.pdf

In my original post, I included links to my YouTube video showing our Vixen and a Thundergull flying at High Valley. ...I'm feeling a little sad that no one has commented on them.

OH well...It's all good...and we'll hope to see you at High Valley.

				Hey Travis,

I watched your videos and enjoyed them very much! Nice to hear the cockpit communication, to compare the weather radar with realtime outside conditions, and enjoy the scenery. Looks like a fun place to fly... certainly different than our Indiana flatland! Thanks for posting.

				Roger,
Thanks for the kind reply. I can now change my sad icon to a smiley one! Yes...HVR is a lot different than flying in Indiana. I love my AnywhereMap Navigation System and NexRad radar...I don't leave the airport without it!

I also watched your videos and WISH I could come that is just the adventure
I need , I am located in southern Minnesota
with very little higher elevation flying experience, pretty much flat and
 wouldn't feel very comfortable.

				Vic & Steve,
Thanks! Glad you found the videos. Mountain flying is a different sort of thing. AOPA has a great Mountain Flying course that is on-line. I'm pretty much a flat-lander except when flying into the mountains of GA, NC & TN.

A Kitfox is perfectly suited for flying into HVR. I'm sure I'll do a flight report and post it on my website in a couple of weeks. There is an older HVR flight report available (under the Information Portal Link). That was a flight that tested me and the Vixen. Even after 3,600 hours...I learned something new that day...and will never forget it! ...although...I"m always learning!
