It seems there is a lot of blame and accusations going around lately. For that reason, I thought I would post something of interest about flying rather than complaining. This is what I wrote to my local list about the fly-in at the airport last Saturday. I've flown the last two evenings. It appears the Light Plane pilots in my area would rather sit and complain than fly.

************************

Guys and Ladies,

Yesterday turned out to be a great day to fly once the fog burned off. I got to the airport at 7:30am and it was socked in. We waited until 10:am when there were a few peeks of sun showing through. The Kolbra was on display and Laurie (my wife) was answering questions as people approached and looked it over.

Once the flying began, it was non-stop until after 4:30. There was everything there including a band, classic cars, and boats, and food. I got to talk with pilots that I haven't seen in years.

Mark German's grandson had waited in line to get his Young Eagles ride and finally gave up as the waiting time was too long. Mark asked if I would give little Logan a ride and it would be my second ride with him. We flew over the airport while staying in the pattern for 3 passes. It was very busy and my head was constantly watching other aircraft in the pattern. After the flight, I made it official by presenting him with his Young Eagles flight certificate. He was thrilled.

Later on, Laurie hopped in the Kolbra and we took off to Osceola WI. It was nice and we enjoyed the flight while talking about the fly-in.

The Civil Air Patrol was directing traffic on the ground and those young boys and girls did a fantastic job keeping us all safe. I'm sure the airport
commission will invite them back again next year.

There was also Boy Scout troops directing the public and the cars coming to the fly-in.

I ran across a lot of older pilots interested in flying Light Sport. Some
begged me for a ride. Good turnout and a good fly-in! I really enjoyed this one.

Ralph

It appears the reason they stay on the ground will only get deleted if posted
So, it's only your side of the story Ralph....

I'm sorry Mike, this is not what this list is about.

The list is to share information about Kolb aircraft and experiences flying them.

It's not about ruining reputations, name-calling, backbiting, hearsay, and gossip.

If this is what you are into, then take it off-list and go somewhere else.

We are only fanning the flame when we respond to any comment that is not
Kolb related or is negative and nasty in content.

Recommend, for the good of the List and those that enjoy learning and
helping others with their Kolbs, do not reply to that type post.

I am only one among many on the List.

Chris, I can't either. The emails I've received from Mike have
usual, and useful stuff. Don't know what I'm missing!
But I do want to know what FAA may be doing, and what the Fly-Ins
are experiencing.
I think Matt is wise to keep out of it if he can, & let the List sort
out its own little bun-fights.
do not archive

Mike sent me a private email. It reads:

"Yourz is com'n......Heard it thru the Grapevine"

If you guys hear of anything happening to my Kolbs or me, maybe the investigation can start with him.

I hate waisting my time over this kind of thing, but it does sound like a threat to me.

Ralph/All

Please don't respond to Mike. Hopefully Matt will do something soon. In the mean time just ignore him. These people get their jollies when someone else stoops to his level. I had hoped he had gone for good when he tried to start up his own list a while back.

I sure wish he would stay on his medication but.......
