For those who don't follow their website closely, it looks like

they have almost overcome the paperwork hurdle.  They now hope

to be actually shipping by the end of Feb.

January 26th 2011



Wow, I wondered when/if we would ever be able to say it....but we are 

fully approved! Today we received the official certificate. We are doing 

all of the final ordering this week, and we need to program the ELT's 

with our certification numbers we just received. The ELT's should be 

shipping by mid/late February. Thanks for your patience

Thanks for the update Werner, I called the place I got

mine ordered to verify they still had the order, so

now I should be all set.  I'm looking forward to it to

since my inspection time is coming up and I wanted

to swap it then.

Phewww, what a relief! I already had the hole cut in the panel for the ACK remote. Really didn't want to go with another unit.

I think so...that's part of why the process is so long...it had to be

approved internationally.  Actually, I think the U.S. might have been

the slow part of the approval and it was OK in some other countries

already...but don't quote me on that.

they had the Canadian approval a long time, the one missing was the 

COSPAS approval (service provider) see here for the Canadian one

Not saying anyone is incorrect, just got a reply from ACS and they claim it's not approved in Canada yet. They expect May. I'll contact ACK directly and post back here.
