Jon Long at Goose Creek has fancy scales. Weight the plane down in his
hangar.

Fellow flyers. I am at the point of needing to weight my 7A. Does anyone
know how to accomplish this and where to beg, borrow or steal adaquate
scales.
Thanks
Tad

Tad,

It is possible to do it with 5-6 bathroom scales.

We did our 6 with 5 (2 per main and 1 per tailwheel).

Recently I re-weighed it because a friend had some "racing" (NASCAR???)
scales on loan. Came out about the same (I filled the fuel tanks and
calculated that part of the weight for the "original" empty weight
measurement.

James

p.s. We even have a set you could borrow but I suspect it will be easier to
go to Wal-Mart and get some 300 lb each scales.

p.p.s. <you probably already know all this but ....> 2 per main with a
platform. Zero out the scales with platform or note weight. If you don't
trust them put on something of known weight for "calibration". Small ramp to
pull it up on scales. You should be less than 600 lbs per main and I would
hope less than 300 per nosegear.
