				Merry Christmas to all

I hope everyone has a great year building and/or flying!

I do have a boxing day suggestion for those who haven't depleted all their free cash buying gifts for family. My wife Joan especially liked the can of 3M spray adhesive I got her. I plan to borrow it for my foot-well carpets!

Anyway, at KOSH I picked up a MyGoFlight.com IPAD mount. Attached are a couple of pix. It has a single point of adjustment that locks the three joints in one go. I mounted it on my center console but it will work just as easily on the center tunnel. The version I have has a quick disconnect so the arm and IPAD mount can be completely removed from the consol attach point.

I find that offset to the right leaves the controls etc clear and provides very confrtable access to the IPAD with my right hand.

In this configuration, I tried sitting in the co-pilot's set and found that it doesn't interfer with the right side at all.

 YMMV

Cheers and have a great New Year

 Les

Well, this whole Stratux thing get me going so I bought the Pi and the 2
radios plus cables on Amazon. Put them together, very easy-just plug
together- and then downloaded the software. Got the disk image file for the
micro SD card (stratux-v0.5b2-e6ad9aa830-12212015) from the zip file
download. Used Win32DiskImager to copy it to the SD card then put the SD
card in my Raspberry Pi computer and fired it up.

I was expecting it to be configured as an ADS-B receiver already to receive
broadcasts and connect to my ipad with Foreflight but the monitor connected
to the Raspberry Pi shows a screen that asks for basic configuration
information. Some of the item seem straightforward but don't know what to
 answer for others. (Screenshot attached)

Has anyone already gone through the setup? Could use some help at this
 point.

You could do the expand file system to maximize the use of the SD card, but everything here is optional.

The config for the ads-b is through a web browser but it should already be setup with some usable defaults "out of the box".

				Albert
I am using stratux on iflightplanner and fltplan.go
In both cases the config was done via choosing ADS-B and picking "clarity" or port 4000 if I did it manually on fltplanGO.
I've done 192.168.10.1 for configs. Never see the screen you attached.
No traffic on fltplanGO but visible on iflightplanner. Stratux works very nicely for weather updates on both.

I should clarify that this display was on a monitor attached directly to
the Raspberry Pi computer itself not on my desktop computer. Am I to
understand that I can do configuration from my desktop by connecting to the
Pi by the 162.198.10.1 or whatever?

Setup wifi to "stratux' on iPad
 Ip to 192.168.10.1
This will show the connection and towers etc. with r2 you can shut down from here as well
Once you have the stratux as wifi connection I think foreflight will pickup - sorry don't use foreflight so can't tell you were to setup the ads-b but shouldn't be hard to find , maybe "settings "?
FltplanGO had Ads b option on map

Join your iPad to the Stratux wireless network, then use the web browser on the iPad to connect to 192.168.10.1

This will allow you to change the config of the Stratux software, if needed.

This was interesting. While the monitor connected to the Raspberry Pi still
 showed the configuration message,
I joined the Stratux network with my ipad. Then I started foreflight just to
see what it looked like and I had the freeflight message with 0 towers. I
carried the whole setup outside and saw some traffic symbols on the display.
Never picked up any towers but I already expected you couldn't while on the
ground. So I guess you don't have to really do anything after you load the
SD card. Great. Now I need to find out how to attach a GPS unit to my
 Stratux box.
 Thanks for the help.

				Hi Albert!
There's no reason (or capability, I think) to attach the GPS to the
Stratux. It is a 'receive only' box.
Since you're using foreflight, the GPS in your iPAD does all it's ever
going to do .... tell Foreflight where you are.

I'm using the Stratux to connect to Avare on an Android tablet. I had
been able to see traffic right away.
Last week I learned (second hand) that ADS-B seems to be altitude
dependent for what information you see transmitted from the ADS-B site
which, for me, is KMLB. I don't fly in crappy weather so haven't been
able to see any on my tablet while on the ground ..... even within range
of the transmitter. The 'friend of a friend' says he doesn't get
weather until over 1800'. I don't have any info to prove/disprove that
observation, but it does point to a possible reason why I don't see any
weather displayed while on the ground.

 Hi Albert,
Adding a GPS is very easy if you use the one they recommend. You can
simply plug it in with a USB cable if all you want is the GPS and time
info, otherwise if you can use a soldering iron you can easily hook it
up to the RPi pins and get a simple AHRS too.

It looks like you may not have gotten the correct software loaded onto your SD card that is in the Raspberry PI. Take a look at the following links to see if they can help.
