I installed a bike riding light in hj460.

It completely cuts out any radio within 5 yards with strong static...teach me to be cheap.
Ill giess ill have to pony up for a proper suppressed landing light unless anyone has a suggestion.

You can try filter caps and maybe even an inductor in the supply line
but the odds are against you. Cheap LEDs use cheap, noisy
Chopping current limiters. Hard to fix correctly from the outside.

Sounds like the cure will be more expensive than the disease.  Anyway the radiation sounds strong enough to give you cancer so I think Ill change it.

I found that problem and replaced with a better quality version, full European CE marked. I also put a ferrite ring in the power lead with a turn of cable though it and stopped the problem.

Its amazing how much noise this thing generatesand throughout the spectrum..really loud...i could use it for the "cone of silence".

I have a cheap Chinese landing light for mine which has a switcher voltage converter to allow up to 32v to be supplied. I haven't noticed any noise from it or impact on anything, however the led matrix 3 x 3 needs about 9 v so a nice quiet resistor would also do the job.

				Graeme
where would I put it?  Across the power and neutral?
This light is for a bike and uses 12v.
Its pretty bright and uses little current so its fine apart from cutting out all comms.  I will try a couple of ferrite chokes to see what happens

I use 3480 lumen LED light from Jaycar. See https://www.jaycar.co.uk/3486-lumen-ip68-solid-led-spot-light/p/SL3919. It's as quite as a mouse and cheap too.
