Most of us use 1450lbs here in the USA. The FAA allows a ferry takeoff weight of 1.25 to 1.5 of the certificates weight. This would be in smooth air. CG would be the determining factor. Fuel is mainly in this range, but the aux tank may pull the CG aft. I’d do a full flight plan along your planned route and mark your CG as you use the fuel. Landing CG would be very important.
Once on landing the CG shifted aft when I put the landing gear and full to the point of almost on pitch control. (Not in an Europa)

Subject: Mtow+
What is the maximum mtow that anyone has flown with?
I am looking at the trip to usa.
Aircraft without fuel weighs 930.
Co pilot, pilot and 17 gals weigh 470. My aux tank with pump and 10.5
gals weighs 75 lbs will be strapped to the wing tie bar up against the main
tank.
So we have 930+545=1485. Add liferaft 8 lbs and odd and ends and itll be
a smidgen over 1500.
I have flown with 1400lbs taking off at 8500 so I am sure that itll take
off.
What the opinion of the group on this? Anyone have any experience? Does
anyone foresee issues?

I have the MTOM increase to 1450lbs (which I appreciate very much) and have flown
with this (2 men up inclusive parachutes, complete camping gear in the baggage
bay and full fuel) several times. The Europa handles this without any problems.
Just be aware, that you'll need a longer take off run and have a higher stall speed
- for obvious reasons.
No experience >1450lbs however.

I have taken off at over 1600 lbs (tri-gear with 912S) - be gentle, land softly and no abruptness. No problem.

OK very useful info 1.25 would mean 1812 lbs! So we should manage 1500lbs without a problem. Aruba is always windy and the take off could be a little bumpy.
And yes point about W&B well taken. The calculations show aft but within limits for take off and we transfer fuel forward during the flight the CG would come forward. The thing is to remember to transfer the fuel forward!
The Aux tank will be snug up against the back of the main tank and so less moment than if it were in the baggage bay.
