Anybody have a good source and price on inner tubes for 8.00x6 tyres? Seems the world has gone mad with spruce offering them for $250usd and another $360usd for a tyre 🤷🏽♂️😱 is there anything remarkable or special about the inner tube? Is it made of the same material as the builder's wheelbarrow tube for $3.50? 🤷🏽♂️

We have had some problems with mono tubes. I wrote an article in EF103 that details our experience. It is difficult to find a the proper size tube with a 90 deg valve stem. We now use nothing but Aero Classic P/N GL7087 tubes. We get them from Desser. Here is the link:

Looks like the price today is 125 USD.
Hope this helps.

I should also add that the Europa manual calls for 18 psi in the tire. That is quite low and if you are doing multiple landings (for example training), heat will build up and the tube will fail, especially if you are operating on pavement.
It is much better to run at 26 to 28 psi. This isn't difficult on grass runways, but on pavement, the tire will not grip as well as at lower pressures so there is a tendency to lose directional control. You have to develop the skills to control the direction of the plane on the ground with the rudder.
An aid I was shown, is to sit in the seat as normal and have an assistant measure the distance from the center of the plane to your nose. Transfer this to a mark on the windshield. I use a small triangle mark so the bottom of the triangle is aligned with the end of the runway and the top of the triangle is the distance from the centerline of the airplane. I use this on landing and find it really helps, especially since my left eye is dominate so I need the assistance to look down the runway instead of over the cowl.
Just my experience.

Thanks Jim; yes i run at 23psi. Found a local source for europa tube number. Will just pay astronomic thievery price.
Spoke to my local supplier of tubes for a technical breakdown on aviation inner tubes... was expecting something "remarkable" be revealed, but no, nothing remarkable from a wheel barrow tube other than tubes are about double the thickness, and the valve stem is a centre position rather than offset, and the price is 10-20X.
The triangle on the window is a good idea; have seen this used before on training aircraft. It does not work on things like the Pitts; so you learn pretty quick to use each side view of the fuselage and runway edge line as two triangles to track direction on the ground. My ass does a great job telling me which way the rail is swinging as well during ground work, and my feet are like a james brown stage show at the apollo.
