My QB wings arrived today via Tony Partain. I'll keep it short with only two photos, but Tony's trailer is big! It's 48 feet long. His driver had already made two drop offs; out came my wings (with the biggest box I could imagine), and he still had a QB fuselage and QB wings for what looked like an RV-7 or 9 inside.
The wings look great. I need to thank Tim and others for their sharing how to build a wing stand - it worked perfect!
My biggest surprise was the size (and weight) of the "box" that came with it. Volume-wise, it's as big as the box the whole empennage came in.
Haven't inventoried yet, but an initial examination of the wings revealed the following:
They primed everything in a very thin coat of some gray primer. At first I thought it had only been buffed by scotchbrite. The main spar is either anodized or alodined in a gold color; exactly like the rivet gauge for 1/8" that Avery sold me. The riveting looks very good; I'm guessing that most of the rivets were back riveted - no marks indicating a gun. The ProSeal on the tanks (that I could see) is plentiful, but not sloppy.
